- 3 lb. round steak
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 medium onion, finely diced (about 3/4 c.)
- 1 c. (1 lb.) stewed tomatoes
- 1 medium green pepper, finely diced (about 3/4 c.)
Directions

1Cut any fat away from the meat.

2Mix together flour, salt and pepper; pound into both sides of meat.

3Melt a small amount of Crisco in a skillet.

4Brown steak thoroughly on all sides.

5Add remaining ingredients.

6Cover tightly and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.

7Makes 4 to 6 servings.
