- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 lb. beef round steak (1-inch thick)
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. (8 oz.) tomatoes
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/4 c. minced green pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1Stir together flour, salt and pepper.

2Sprinkle one side of meat with half the flour mixture; pound in.

3Turn meat and pound in remaining flour mixture.

4Cut meat into 6 serving pieces.

5Melt shortening in large skillet; brown meat over medium heat about 15 minutes.

6Cover tightly; simmer 1 hour.

7Add small amount of water if necessary.
