Ingredients

  • 4 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 c. white flour
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 qt. buttermilk or 3 1/2 c. milk with 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Grease 2 loaf pans. Combine both flours, sugar and salt.

    Mix milk with soda.
  4. 4
    Stir into flour mixture.

    Put in pans.

    Put into oven and reduce heat to 350°. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until done in center when tested with toothpick. Remove from pans and cool on rack.
