Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground meat
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seed or powder
  • garlic powder to taste
  • 1 hot jalapeno pepper
  • 4 to 5 chopped fresh tomatoes or Del Monte Mexican style canned tomatoes
  • 1 box taco shells
  • chopped lettuce and tomatoes (for topping)

Directions

    Heat shells in oven (325°) until crisp.

    Simmer all ingredients for 45 minutes, thickening with 1 tablespoon flour if needed.

    Spoon filling into taco shells.
  4. 4
    Top with chopped lettuce, tomatoes and shredded cheese.
