- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 tsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla (or other flavoring)
Directions

1Combine sugar, cream of tartar, corn syrup, water and butter in saucepan and mix well.

2Cook to a hard ball stage, stirring frequently (hard ball stage about 265°).

3Remove from heat; add vanilla.

4Pour into buttered pan.

5When cool, pull until it gets satiny and porous.

6Twist into a rope; cut into 1/2 or 1-inch pieces.
