  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 4 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and beat well.

    Then add buttermilk and vanilla.

    Mix the flour, salt, soda and baking powder; slowly add to other mixture and stir until dough is stiff enough to roll out.

    If it is too sticky, add a little more flour. Roll to at least 1/4-inch thickness; cut with a cookie cutter or glass and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
