  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. plain flour, sifted
  • pecans (optional)

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, cream of tartar, soda, salt and vanilla. Add flour a little at a time. Mix well. Chill. Roll dough into small marble-size balls.

    Place onto greased silver cookie sheet. Place pecan half on top of each cookie. Bake at 325° for 20 minutes or until done.
