- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. chopped dates (optional)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter or margarine and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy.

3Add water and vanilla.

4Gradually add flour and nuts, beating until well mixed.

5Chill for 30 minutes or until firm.

6Roll dough into one inch balls.

7Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

8Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown on bottom. Cool 10 minutes and roll in 1 cup confectioners sugar.

9When completely cool, roll again in remaining confectioners sugar. Yields 4 dozen cookies, about 80 calories each.
