- 2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

3Chop in butter with pastry blender until flour coated particles of butter are the size of coarse meal.

4Add egg and milk.

5Stir quickly and lightly until no flour shows.

6Turn dough out on a floured surface and knead gently about 15 times.

7Cut the dough in half.

8Shape each half into a ball and press each down into a round about 1/2 inch thick.

9Cut each into 8 wedges like a pie.

10Place the wedges on a greased cookie sheet, without allowing the sides to touch.

11Glaze, if desired, with lightly beaten egg. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
