  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. orange flavoring
  • 5 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 to 10 egg yolks

Directions

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Beat in eggs, one or two at a time.

    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with water.

    Add flavoring.

    Bake at 350° in three 8-inch pans or two 9-inch pans. Frost with Seven Minute Icing.
