- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 c. shortening
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add buttermilk and water to dry ingredients. Mix and roll into a ball. Cover tightly and place in refrigerator. When ready to bake, dip in melted butter and bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
