Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef (can use turkey or chicken)
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (stewed tomatoes work well)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pinto beans
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 2/3 c. picante sauce or more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. cumin

Directions

    In a 3-quart saucepan, brown onion and hamburger.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Heat for 10 minutes.

    Serve with crushed corn or tortilla chips, cheese, sour cream and shredded lettuce.
