- 4 lbs lean beef or 4 lbs chili-style ground beef
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic cloves (1/2 teaspoon powdered)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Mexican oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 6 tablespoons chili powder
Directions

1Heat oil in a large dutch oven or pot over medium heat.

2Add your meat.

3Brown meat and drain grease.

4Add the onions, garlic and cook until onions are translucent.

5Add the remaining ingredients and stir well.

6Bring to a boil then reduce heat so that the chili simmers.

7Simmer uncovered for 1 hour stirring occasionally.
