- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 3 large onions, sliced
- 1 large green pepper
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. (No. 1 can) cooked tomatoes
- 1/2 c. washed uncooked rice or 2 c. noodles
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Directions

1In shortening, cook ground beef, onions and green pepper. Stir in tomatoes, either rice or noodles (your choice), chili powder, salt and pepper.

2Pour into greased 2-quart casserole; cover and bake for 1 hour at 350°.

3Remove cover the last 15 minutes.
