   Combine sugar, syrup, oleo, 1 cup evaporated milk and vanilla. Allow this mixture to come to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Add very slowly, while boiling, 1 cup evaporated milk.

   Cook over moderate heat until mixture reaches a soft ball stage (232°).

   Add pecans.

   Pour into a large buttered pan.

   Refrigerate overnight and cut into squares.
