  • 1 lb. butter or margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 7 eggs, separated
  • 5 c. enriched all-purpose flour
  • 1 qt. pecan pieces
  • 1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 4 Tbsp. warm water
  • 1 (2 oz.) bottle pure lemon extract
  • 1 lb. box raisins

    Cream butter and sugar well.

    Beat egg yolks well and add to butter and sugar mixture.

    Add a little flour, the soda dissolved in water and lemon extract.

    Add a little more flour.
