  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. oil or margarine
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar and salt (set aside).

    Place in pan the water, oil, margarine and cocoa.

    Bring mixture to a boil and remove from heat.

    Pour mixture over dry ingredients.

    Add eggs and beat.

    Mix in soda, buttermilk and vanilla.

    Beat for a minute.

    Pour in greased pan and bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
