  • 3 sticks oleo
  • 1 c. water
  • 8 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk + 6 Tbsp.
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar
  • 3/4 c. nuts

Directions

    Put in pan and bring to a boil:

    2 sticks oleo, water and 4 tablespoons cocoa.

    Mix together flour, sugar, salt and soda. Pour hot mixture over this.

    Add eggs, 1/2 cup buttermilk and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

    Beat well and bake at 350° on large greased cookie sheet about 20 minutes.
