- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 sticks margarine (1 c.)
- 5 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 stick margarine
- 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
- 6 Tbsp. milk
- 1 lb. box confectioners sugar
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Grease and lightly flour a 10 x 15 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Preheat oven to 400°.

2In large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.

3Measure into large, heavy saucepan 2 sticks margarine, 5 tablespoons cocoa and water.

4Heat saucepan mixture to boiling, stirring well.

5Add to flour-sugar combination, blending well.

6In medium bowl, beat eggs; stir soda into buttermilk.

7Add to eggs along with vanilla.

8Add this buttermilk mixture to the flour-cocoa combination.

9Mix well.

10Pour batter into prepared pan.

11Bake about 25 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
