- 8 c. sliced squash
- 4 c. bell pepper, chopped
- 1 c. onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. salt
- 1 gal. water
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
Directions

1Soak squash, pepper and onion in the gallon of water and salt. Cover with ice.

2Let stand 2 hours; drain well.

3Mix other ingredients and bring to a boil.

4Drop pickles in hot liquid and bring to a hard boil again.

5Pack in jars.

6Cover with hot liquid and seal.
