- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 16-ounce can whole plum tomatoes
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
- Pinch crushed red pepper
Directions

1Heat olive oil in a large skillet, add onion and garlic and cook over medium low heat, stirring, until the onion is soft but not brown.

2Add remaining ingredients including liquid from the tomatoes.

3Adjust heat to low and simmer, uncovered, until the sauce is very thick and no longer liquid, about 30 minutes.

4Stir sauce from time to time to prevent sticking.
