- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. butter
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 unbeaten egg yolk
- 1 slightly beaten egg white
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. finely chopped pecans
- 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Sift together flour and salt.

2Cream well the butter and brown sugar.

3Blend in unbeaten egg yolk and vanilla.

4Add the dry ingredients.

5Mix thoroughly.

6If desired, chill one hour for easier handling.

7Shape dough into balls, 1-inch in diameter.

8Dip in slightly beaten egg white, then into chopped pecans.

9Place on ungreased baking sheet.

10Press deep hole in center of cookie with floured finger or thimble.

11Bake in a moderate oven (375°) for 12 to 15 minutes.
