  • 3 or 4 c. washed blackberries
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 c. plain flour
  • 3 pastry shells (Pillsbury's pie crust is the best)

    Mix 1 1/2 c. sugar with 1/3 c. plain flour. Mix berries with sugar-flour mixture. Place pastry in bottom of pan of desired size---either homemade or bought crust. Add layer of berries---dot with butter. Add another layer of pastry--- the berries---dot with butter. Place on the top crust and bake at 375° to 400° until brown and juice bubbles through top crust, (about 30 to 35 minutes).
