- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg yolks and vanilla.

2Blend together flour and salt.

3Stir into first mixture.

4Roll dough into balls (using teaspoon ball).

5Beat egg whites separately; with fork, dip balls into egg whites.

6Roll into nuts.

7Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased pan; press thumbprint in and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°.
