Ingredients

  • 4 cups bread cubes (1/2 loaf makes about 4 cups)
  • 12 cup butter, melted
  • 12 cup finely cut onion
  • 12 cup finely cut celery
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Directions

    A few days before, tear bread into small cubes.

    Allow to sit out to stale up.

    Combine all ingredients except bread in frying pan.

    Saute slowly until vegetables are slightly transparent.

    Stir in bread cubes until all are coated with butter and ingredients are mixed evenly.

    Stuff into bird at both ends.

    Skewer openings closed.
