- 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
- 3/4 c. plus 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 unbeaten eggs
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Toast pecans in 2 tablespoons butter in 350° oven for 20 minutes.

2Stir.

3Cream butter; add sugar.

4Blend in eggs.

5Beat well.

6Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.

7Blend well. Add vanilla and 2/3 cup pecans.

8Turn into 2 (9-inch) round cake pans, well-greased and floured on bottom.

9Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

10Frost with Pecan Frosting.
