  • 1 lb. pecans
  • dash of salt
  • 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
  • 1/2 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. sugar

Directions

    Toast pecans in a 325° oven for 15 minutes, until light brown. Beat egg whites; fold in sugar and salt.

    Fold pecans into meringue.

    Melt margarine in a jelly roll pan; spread pecans into margarine.

    Bake in a 325° oven for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

    Cool.
