  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine first 6 ingredients and boil slowly, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.

    Continue cooking to 250°, stirring occasionally until a few drops of syrup form a hard ball when dropped in cold water.

    Add vanilla and chopped nuts.

    Pour into greased 8-inch square pan.

    When cool, cut into strips.
