   Preheat oven to 350.

   Cream together softened butter and brown sugar. Add egg yolk, vanilla, salt, and flour.

   Press down batter into 9x13 pan.

   Bake 15-20 minutes.

   Spread about half of the tub of frosting across warm cookie.

   Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
