- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg, separated
- 2/3 c. finely chopped walnuts
Directions

1Preheat oven to 275°.

2Grease a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan.

3Into a large bowl, measure all ingredients, except egg white and walnuts.

4With mixer at medium speed, beat ingredients until well mixed, occasionally scraping bowl.

5Pat evenly into pan.

6In a cup with fork, beat egg white slightly.

7Brush over top of dough and sprinkle with nuts.

8Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until golden.

9Immediately cut into 48 bars and remove from pan to cool on wire racks.

10Store in tightly covered container.

11Makes 48 bars.
