Ingredients
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose or whole wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 bars (large 4 oz. size) milk chocolate candy
- 3/4 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Mix brown sugar, butter, egg yolk and vanilla.

3Stir in flour and salt.

4Press evenly into greased oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inches.

5Bake until very light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.

6Crust will be soft.

7Remove from oven; immediately place separated pieces of chocolate candy on crust.

8Let stand until soft, then spread evenly.

9Sprinkle with nuts.

10Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 1/2-inches, while warm.

11Yield: 32 cookies.
