  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. walnuts
  • 6 Hershey candy bars

Directions

    In saucepan, bring sugar, salt, butter and water to a boil and continue until hard crack or 300° on candy thermometer.

    Add nuts and stir constantly to prevent scorching.

    Lightly grease cookie sheet 15 x 10 x 3/4-inches.

    Melt candy bars.

    Spread toffee mixture on cookie sheet and allow to cool, then spread the melted chocolate bars on top and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.

    Cool and break into pieces.
