Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 lb. sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cream butter; add sugar gradually.

    Blend in egg yolk, vanilla, salt and flour.

    Spread in greased 10 x 15 x 1-inch pan. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes.

    (Turn heat down if edges are browning too fast.)

    Spread while hot with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.

    Cool and cut into small squares. Makes about 6 dozen.
