Tomacaroni Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. chuck or round steak, cut in cubes
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes, chopped and drained
  • 1 (8 oz.) can peas, undrained
  • 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, undrained
  • 1 c. uncooked macaroni

Directions

    Heat oil and brown cubes of meat.

    Remove meat and cook onions and garlic until golden brown.

    Put meat back in with onions and garlic.

    Add salt, pepper and tomatoes.

    Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until meat is tender.

    Add undrained peas and mushrooms.

    Stir in the uncooked macaroni.

    Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until macaroni is tender.
