- tomatoes (enough to make 1 gal. when cooked)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 pt. cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. ground allspice
- 3 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp. ground cloves
Directions

1Select good firm ripe tomatoes; scald and strain through a coarse sieve to remove seed and skin.

2When cold, add to each gallon tomatoes the other ingredients; let simmer slowly for 3 hours.

3Seal in bottles or jars.
