Ingredients

  • 1 can whole tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 2 large onions, minced
  • 1 large bell pepper, minced
  • 3 ribs celery, minced
  • 5 toes garlic, minced
  • 1/4 fresh parsley, minced
  • 2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 large serving spoonful flour
  • 3/4 c. oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Save tomato cans and fill with water.

    In a Dutch oven, place oil and heat.

    Put vegetables in and saute until clear.

    Add flour to pot and fry until brown.

    In a blender or food processor, put in tomato products.

    When blended, put in pot and cook for about 15 minutes.

    Put water from cans in pot, plus add about 1 cup more (until right consistency, not too thick or thin).

    Salt and pepper to taste.

    Let cook for 1 hour.
