Ingredients

  • 2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 to 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. Tabasco
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 loaf Pepperidge Farm very thin bread, crusts removed

    Heat tomatoes for 5 minutes.

    Add butter, sugar and all seasonings.

    Mix well.

    Butter 2 quart casserole and fill with loosely torn

    pieces of bread.

    Pour tomato mixture over bread and mix well.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.
