- 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can cut up tomatoes with liquid
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- salt to taste
- 1 qt. milk
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Directions

1In a large saucepan, bring tomatoes to a boil.

2Add baking soda, garlic salt, pepper and salt, if desired.

3Reduce heat; add the milk and butter.

4Heat through, but do not boil.
