Tomato Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 bushel tomatoes, cook and run through colander
  • 1 bunch celery
  • 8 onions
  • 1 pod banana pepper
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 6 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 4 sticks margarine

Directions

    Cook tomatoes; run through colander.

    Cook celery, onions and banana pepper together.

    Make a paste with some of the cooled tomato paste and the flour.

    Bring all of the ingredients to a slow boil and cook 30 minutes.

    Put in sterilized jars; seal.

    Put jars in a hot water bath for 20 minutes.

    Makes approximately 12 quarts.
