- 2 c. tomatoes (about 5)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- dash of cayenne (if desired)
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. butter or fat
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 4 c. milk (scalded)
- celery (optional)
Directions

1Cook tomatoes, onion, salt and pepper, cayenne and sugar for 15 minutes.

2Melt butter; blend in flour.

3Add milk gradually. Gradually add tomato mixture to milk mixture, stirring constantly. Serve.
