  • 1 qt. canned tomato juice
  • 1 qt. cooked fresh tomatoes
  • salt
  • 3/4 qt. milk (3 c.)
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo (optional)

Directions

    Heat tomatoes and add baking soda (will fizz).

    Add milk and sugar.

    Stir while heating.

    A tablespoon of butter or margarine may be added.

    Serve with crackers.
