Tomato Soup Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
  • raisins (if desired)

Directions

    Mix together flour, baking powder, allspice, cloves, baking soda and cinnamon and set aside.

    Then, in another bowl, mix oleo and eggs.

    Add sugar and tomato soup.

    Mix well; add water. Alternate with adding dry ingredients.

    If desired, add chopped nuts and raisins.

    Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes in regular cake pan.

    When cool, ice with a cream cheese frosting.
