  • 8 7/16 cups milk
  • 8 tablespoons sugar
  • cinnamon stick
  • ground cinnamon
  • 2 loaves bread stale
  • 4 eggs
  • sunflower oil

Directions

    Heat the milk with the half of the sugar and the cinnamon stick in a large pot on medium heat. Sprinkle in some ground cinnamon and mix well. Once it boils, remove the pot from the stove.

    Strain the milk and let it cool.

    Cut the loaves of bread into 2- to 3-centimeter thick slices and soak in the milk completely and place them on a tray.

    Beat the eggs and use it to cover each slice.

    Fry in very hot sunflower oil.

    Place them on paper towel to remove excess oil and let them cool.

    In a bowl, mix the remaining sugar and some ground cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of the fried Torrijas and serve.
