Tuna Casserole

  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 2 c. shredded processed American cheese
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 (7 oz.) cans tuna, drained and flaked (chicken can be used)
  • 1 (1 lb.) can peas and carrots, drained
  • 4 c. cooked noodles or macaroni

Directions

    Mix butter or margarine, onion, evaporated milk, water, cheese and salt in saucepan.

    Cook and stir over medium heat until cheese completely melts.

    Mix cheese mixture with tuna, peas, carrots and noodles.

    Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.

    Top with more cheese or cornflake crumbs.
