- 4 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cans flat anchovies in oil, rinsed carefully
- 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 (29 oz.) can Italian tomatoes, crushed
- 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. parsley, chopped
- pepper to taste
- 2 large (12 oz.) cans tuna fish in oil
Directions

1Saute onion and garlic in oil until lightly browned.

2Add rinsed anchovies and stir.

3Anchovies will become pasty.

4Add tomato paste, 2 cans (paste) of water, tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes; also parsley and pepper.

5Slow simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Then add tuna; mix well and simmer another 30 to 45 minutes. Serve over spaghetti or fettucini.
