- 15 to 18 lb. turkey
- 1 doz. eggs
- 36 cornbread muffins, crumbled
- 8 slices dried toast, crumbled
- 1 large onion, diced
- 12 stalks celery, diced
- pepper to taste
- 6 to 8 cans chicken broth
- 1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
- bacon drippings
- sage to taste
- salt
- shortening
Directions

1Turkey:

2Remove giblets and neck from turkey.

3Wash turkey. Spread melted shortening on turkey and then shake on salt.

4Cover; leave some air.

5Add 3 cups water and cook in a 325° preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes per pound.

6After about 1 hour, uncover to brown.

7(Cook giblets in pan with turkey.)
