- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 tsp. sage
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/2 c. flour
- 4 c. chicken broth (hot)
- 1 c. cream
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Melt butter in a heavy saucepan.

2Sprinkle herbs and flour over butter.

3Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.

4Add hot broth and stir briskly until thick and smooth.

5Turn off heat and blend in cream.

6Add salt and pepper to taste.

7This can be stored in refrigerator.

8Reheat gently.

9Do not boil.

10Yields 4 cups.
