Turkey Supper Sandwich

Ingredients
- 1 (15 oz.) can extra long asparagus or 12 fresh stalks
- 5 large turkey slices
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 5 slices French bread
- 1 (2 oz.) jar sliced mushrooms
- 1 (2 1/2 oz.) pkg. dried beef
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire
Directions

1Place asparagus with its own liquid in pan.

2Place turkey on top of asparagus.

3Heat to serving temperature.

4Melt butter in another pan, blend in flour and gradually stir in milk.

5Cook on medium heat until thickened, stirring to keep smooth.

6Add cheese and stir until melted.

7Add mushrooms (drained), shredded beef, Worcestershire sauce and pepper to taste.

8Toast bread.

9Place turkey slice on each bread slice.

10Cover with drained asparagus and spoon sauce over sandwiches.

11Serves 5.
