  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice
  • choice of filling

Directions

    Blend flour, salt and shortening in mixing bowl.

    Add milk and vinegar; mix well.

    Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick.

    Cut into squares.

    Fill lower right-hand corner with filling (2 to 3 tablespoons).

    Pull top left over filling; meet edges and pinch. Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

    Cool on pan.

    Can be topped with glaze.
