- 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
- 2/3 c. (small can) evaporated milk, divided
- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- 1/2 c. margarine, melted
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 6 oz. (1 c.) chocolate chips
Directions

1Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

2Set aside.

3In bowl combine remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk and dry cake mix. Press half of mixture in bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.

4Bake at 350° for 6 minutes.

5Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts and chocolate chips.

6Spread caramel mixture carefully over nuts and chocolate chips.

7Drop remaining cake mix by teaspoons over caramel and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup nuts.

8Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
